Police investigating deadly shooting at Tuscaloosa apartment complex

A Sunday-night shooting in Tuscaloosa left one man dead.

Tuscaloosa police were dispatched at 7:40 p.m. to Aspen Village Apartment in the 2200 block of 48th Street.

When they arrived, the victim was already dead on the scene.

A possible suspect is in custody, said Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Marty Sellers.

Police are also investigating an unrelated shooting in Tuscaloosa.

TPD spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor said the department received a call at 6:15 p.m. of about 100 cars racing in the parking lot at Snow Hinton Park.

While officers were en route, another 911 caller reported that around 200 cars had pulled into parking lot of Evolve Tuscaloosa off Jack Warner Parkway.

Subsequent callers reported hearing gunshots in the area of the parking deck. Officers responded to the DCH Regional Medical Center and located a victim who suffered a gunshot injury that isn’t life-threatening.
