Plush bags recalled due to choking hazard that could be deadly, feds say

Primark is recalling two styles of plush bags due to a choking hazard.

According to an announcement from the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, the retailer is recalling its Stitch and Angel bags because the zipper on the back of the plush bags can break, causing a choking hazard that can lead to serious injury or death.

The recall involves the DTR Plush Bag Stitch and DTR Plush Bag Angel. The Stitch plush bags were sold in blue and the Angel bags were sold in purple. The bags are about 10 inches long and 8 inches wide and come with a swing tag care label that hangs off the side.

The affected product was sold at Primark stores in the Northeast, Florida, Maryland and Illinois from March to October 2024 for $6 each.

So far, no injuries have been reported.

The agency is urging consumers who own the bags to immediately take the bags away from children, stop using them and return them to a Primark store for a full refund.
