Sophomore Kaleb Freeman threw for 280 yards and four touchdowns as Pleasant Grove captured its first region championship in three years with a 35-14 win over Bibb County on Friday.

The second-ranked Spartans, who last won a region title in 2021, claimed the Class 4A, Region 4 crown with the road win at Centreville to close out their regular season at 8-1 and 7-0 in the region. Pleasant Grove is in its first season as a 4A team after spending the past 26 years in Class 5A.
