Pit bull that bit Mobile SWAT officer during drug raid fatally shot by police
Mobile police said a pit bull was shot and killed Wednesday morning after it attacked a SWAT officer during a search.
The incident happened at about 5:10 a.m. in the 900 block of Cloverdale Drive.
SWAT officers were executing a search warrant when a dog “aggressively charged” and bit one of the officers.
The officer shot and killed the dog. The officer was then transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Police say they found 14.6 grams of methamphetamine, along with related paraphernalia, during the search.
Two people were taken into custody, police said.
