Pilot of ultralight plane injured after crashing in Mobile County

The pilot of an ultralight plane was injured after the aircraft crashed Monday morning in a remote area of Mobile County.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday sheriff’s deputies and other emergency responders arrived on the scene of the crash west of St. Elmo Airport, Fox 10 reported.

The aircraft suffered engine failure at 1,000 feet, causing the plane to crash Monday morning west of Ramsey Road and U.S. 90.

The pilot, who was found trapped underneath the aircraft, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
