Person of interest in death of Talladega mother found in burning vehicle reportedly shot by deputy

A woman found dead in a burning vehicle over the weekend has been positively identified as a Talladega mother.

Munford firefighters were dispatched at 5:30 p.m. Sunday to a report of a vehicle on fire on Cemetery Circle, which is behind a home on Jenifer Road.

Talladega Deputy Coroner Joshua Vincent said once the blaze was extinguished, the firefighters found the remains of 36-year-old Tiffany Bonner.

She was pronounced dead on the scene at 6:37 p.m.

Vincent said was positively identified on Tuesday by her tattoos.

Her remains have been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences to determine how she was killed.

Vincent said the incident is domestic-related.

Repeated efforts to reach the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office for comment have been successful.

Sheriff’s officials have said in published reports that a person of interest in Bonner’s death was later spotted walking on Quail Run Road with a gun.

When deputies approached him, they said, he reached for a gun and was shot by a deputy.

That person remains hospitalized in Birmingham. No charges have been filed.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials said they were not aware of the officer-involved shooting.

Bonner’s daughter, Makaylee Bracy, has launched a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.

“On March 30, our lives changed forever when my mother, Tiffany, was tragically taken from us,” Bracy wrote. “She was loving, strong, kind… and her loss has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled.”

“We want to give her the service she deserves,” Bracy wrote, “to honor her life, her love, and the incredible person she was.”
