Permits totaling $4.2 million issued for build-to-rent community in Madison

More housing options are on the way in the city of Madison.

The city issued 35 permits last week to Landmark Cottage Construction totaling $4.2 million for single family dwellings on 180 Hughes Road, according to Southern Exposure Information.

The project was the largest issued permits in Madison, Morgan and Limestone counties last week. Overall, 173 permits were issued totaling $41 million in the three counties from May 1 to May 8.

Madison County issued 54 permits totaling $12.7 million. Huntsville issued 43 permits totaling $10.4 million, Madison 50 permits totaling $8.8 million, Athens 23 for $5.7 million and Decatur three permits totaling $604,000.

Landmark Cottage Construction’s website lists The Everstead at Madison as a 231-unit project featuring one-to-four-bedroom homes and townhomes. It said phase one of the community is scheduled to open in the fall.

Permits issued last week listed dwellings ranging from 1,207-square feet to 2,491 square feet and ranging from $102,000 to $156,000 in value.
