People in these 10 cities are the most stressed in the US: 1 Alabama city made the list
A new analysis shows that where Americans live significantly affects their ability to handle stress.
WalletHub, a personal finance website that regularly conducts city rankings, recently ranked 182 American cities from least to most stressed. To compare the cities, they used 39 key metrics, ranging from average weekly work hours to unemployment rates, as well as divorce and suicide rates.
The analysis found that residents experience higher stress levels in cities characterized by high crime rates, weak economies, ineffective public health systems, and congested transportation.
Detroit, Cleveland, and Baltimore face the highest levels of stress, while residents of South Burlington, Fremont, and Sioux Falls demonstrate better stress management skills, according to WalletHub.
