A Pensacola, Fla., mother accused of throwing her twin 1-month-old babies on the ground during an argument will not serve any jail time, the Pensacola News Journal reports.

According to an arrest report obtained by the outlet, Trinity Crenshaw was holding her infant twins outside her home in December 2022 when an argument began with the father of the children. A witness told investigators that “during the altercation, Crenshaw intentionally threw the children to the ground.”

After the babies were thrown to the ground, the father and the witness picked them up and left the scene, according to the report. At least one of the infants was injured, with cuts on both sides of her face and chest.

Investigators would later find an exchange of text messages between Crenshaw and the father, with the father writing “u threw my babies on the ground” and Crenshaw replying “I threw them cuz you were full of (expletive).”

Crenshaw, 21, was charged with two counts of felony aggravated child abuse, but prior to the start of a jury trial, she reached a plea agreement with prosecutors under which she pleaded no contest to two counts of the lesser charge of child abuse without great bodily harm.

Had she been found guilty of felony child abuse, Crenshaw was facing up to 30 years in a Florida prison. The lesser charge carries a maximum sentence of five years.

The judge, however, sentenced Crenshaw to 18 months community control — which is in essence house arrest, with Crenshaw allowed to leave her home under certain conditions — followed by three years probation.

Crenshaw was also ordered to undergo substance abuse and mental health evaluations, successfully complete a parenting class, and submit to random alcohol and drug testing.

Should she fail to meet the requirements set forth by the court, the judge could institute a prison sentence.
