Pensacola man charged with kidnapping, sexually assaulting woman he met on Facebook Dating

A 29-year-old Pensacola man is charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman he met through Facebook Dating, an online dating app managed through the social media site, WEAR reported.

Escambia County deputies initially contacted the victim Sunday outside St. John’s Episcopal Church. She was in need of medical attention, with what deputies described as an injury to her right eye, adding that she was “visibly shaken and nervous,” according to the report.

The victim told deputies the suspect — identified as Caleb Nathaniel Fast — had been holding her against her will since last Thursday and that the two had connected through Facebook Dating. The woman said Fast struck her repeatedly, sexually assaulted her and threatened her with a firearm if she tried to leave, according to the report.

The victim was finally able to escape after Fast passed out drunk after drinking a bottle of wine. She ran to the church and called law enforcement.

Fast was taken into custody and charged with false imprisonment, battery, aggravated assault, and sexual assault. He remains in the Escambia County (Fla.) Jail under total bond of $177,000.

In addition, there is a hold placed on Fast for another law enforcement agency.

Although the Escambia County Jail docket does not provide details on that hold, it is known that Fast was arrested in April 2017 and charged with stabbing a man at a Louisville, Ky., restaurant, according to a report by WLKY in Louisville.

Fast reportedly tried to pay his bill with a credit card which was declined and then attempted to leave without paying. When a restaurant manager attempted to stop Fast from leaving, Fast pulled out a knife and stabbed him.

Fast was arrested at the restaurant and charged with 2nd-degree assault. Louisville police said he admitted to the stabbing. Information on the disposition of that case was not immediately available.
