Pensacola Beach’s Margaritaville resort announces rebranding

Margaritaville Hotel Pensacola Beach will soon be a thing of the past, as the ownership group announced this week the hotel would be rebranded as an independent.

Come June 1, the resort will transition to the Pensacola Beach Resort, while retaining the same ownership and management.

But the name isn’t the only thing changing.

According to the Corsair Hospitality Group, which manages the property, extensive renovations are underway, including updates to Frank & Lola Love Pensacola Cafe, the hotel restaurant, as well as a new pool deck, furnishings and artwork, with fireplaces and pickleball courts also on the horizon.

“We’ve had a great run with Margaritaville as the first hotel in that brand and will cherish those memories,” says developer Marilyn Woodbury, a Director of American Fidelity Life Insurance Company (AmFi). “Rebranding the hotel to a standalone concept was a strategic decision based on our belief that the next chapter of this property lies in an identity tied directly to its hometown.

“We are blessed with the most beautiful beaches in the world. This hotel is going all-in on Pensacola Beach’s future.”

The LandShark Landing Beach Bar is also undergoing renovations, but the bar and the hotel will continue to welcome guests during the transition.

One thing won’t change, however: The restaurant will remain open to hotel guests, only.

“While we do not have enough restaurant space or parking to host non-hotel guests inside,” Woodbury said, “we love that so many local patrons also come to stay with us at the hotel.”

Woodbury also noted the bar has its own parking and is open to non-hotel guests.

Those with existing hotel reservations do not need to take any action. All reservations will be honored, according to management.

The hotel opened in June 2010 as the first Margaritaville-branded hotel. The resort has 162 rooms, including 24 executive rooms with wrap-around balconies. The hotel overlooks more than 800 feet of Gulf of Mexico frontage property, with an additional 800 feet which overlooks Pensacola Bay.
