Pell City native named senior Trump economic adviser
A native of St. Clair County and graduate of The Altamont School in Birmingham will serve as a senior advisor to President Donald Trump when he takes office this week.
Emory Cox, of Pell City, was appointed special assistant to the president for international economic relations, according to a report from CNBC. In that position, Cox will serve on the White House National Economic Council under chair Kevin Hassett.
“I am pleased to announce the brilliant team who will serve on the White House National Economic Council (NEC) under Kevin Hassett, one of the world’s most respected economists,” Trump said in a statement. “We will unleash a renaissance in American prosperity and innovation by putting our Nation’s Citizens, Families, and Businesses first.”
