Ross Newton, a former Samford University football team captain and assistant coach, has been hired as the new head football coach at Pelham High School.

The school announced the hiring on social media on Thursday. Newton is replacing Mike Vickery, who was let go following a 1-9 finish in 2024 and a 12-20 record in three seasons.
