A pedestrian was struck by a train in Sheffield Thursday afternoon.

According to the Colbert County Emergency Management Agency, the incident happened at about 12:55 p.m. at North Montgomery Avenue and East First Street.

One person was injured.

The victim was airlifted from the scene.

Sheffield police are investigating.
