A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in northern Birmingham.

The wreck happened at 5:23 p.m. Thursday on Finley Boulevard between 16th Street and 17th Street North.

According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the victim was crossing the road when a vehicle hit him. The driver left the scene.

The victim was pronounced dead at 5:38 p.m.

He has not yet been identified, but authorities said he was an adult Black male.

Birmingham police are investigating.
