A pedestrian was killed Friday in a hit-and-run on Birmingham’s east side.

The crash happened at 9:07 a.m. at 87th Street and West Boulevard.

East Precinct officers responding to the scene found the male victim unresponsive in a grassy area between First Court North and First Avenue North.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police said the motorist who struck the victim did not stop.
