A pedestrian was killed Thursday night after they were struck by a vehicle in north Alabama.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Highway 231 and Steger Road in Meridianville, Don Webster of Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc. told WAFF.

Webster could not immediately be reached by AL.com to confirm the report.

State troopers were headed to the scene to investigate, according to WAFF.
