A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run on an I-65 off-ramp in Montgomery.

Police identified the fatality victim as Lavaris Rawlinson. He was 32 and lived in Montgomery.

Authorities said Rawlinson was on the West South Boulevard I-65 off-ramp about 7:15 a.m. Monday when he was hit by a commercial 18-wheeler.

The tractor-trailer fled the scene before police arrived, said Montgomery police Maj. Saba Coleman.

Rawlinson was pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
