Paul Finebaum named Indy Grand Prix of Alabama grand marshal

It was announced Friday that Paul Finebaum will serve as the Grand Marshal for the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix April 28-30 at Barber Motorsports Park.

Finebaum will declare drivers to “Start your engines!” to kick-off Sunday’s race with some of the biggest stars of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, including Helio Castroneves, Romain Grosjean, Scott Dixon and defending champion Pato O’Ward.

Finebaum will also be a guest speaker at the annual Racing for Children’s dinner, benefiting Children’s of Alabama.

“I am honored and thrilled to be the Grand Marshal for this special weekend,” Finebaum said in a release. “I grew up watching the Indy 500 as a kid and the opportunity to serve as the Grand Marshal for the same cars and drivers that race in the 500 is really exciting.

“Children’s of Alabama is one of the finest pediatric hospitals in the country, and I look forward to showcasing their mission through this event.”

Tickets for the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix start at $25. Kids 15 and under get in free. A portion of ticket proceeds benefit Children’s of Alabama. Tickets and more information can be found at indyalabama.com.
