Patrick Surtain II zooms during Best Catch entry
Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II flew like a super-hero over Las Vegas for his entry in the Best Catch competition at the NFL’s Pro Bowl Games.
The league has replaced the Pro Bowl game this season with a series of skills competitions between the all-stars from the two conferences.

On Thursday’s opening night, the four preliminary entries in the Best Catch competition were revealed, with Surtain and three wide receivers – the Buffalo Bills’ Stefon Diggs, Minnesota Vikings’ Justin Jefferson and Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown – showing off their hands at Las Vegas landmarks.
Fans will decide which two players advance to the Best Catch final on Sunday via social-media voting by tweeting #BestCatch and the name of the player. Voting ends at 10:59 p.m. CST Friday.
Surtain made his catch while moving along a zoomline.
Jefferson’s catch came on a football thrown from the Las Vegas replica of the Eiffel Tower.
Diggs and St. Brown used pools for their catches.
After four events on Thursday, the AFC leads the NFC 9-3 at the Pro Bowl Games. The event concludes on Sunday with the Best Catch finale, Gridiron Gauntlet, Kick Tac Toe, Move the Chains and three flag-football games. The Pro Bowl Games will be televised by ESPN from 2 to 5 p.m. CST Sunday from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Surtain received unanimous All-American recognition and won the SEC Defensive Player of the Year Award for Alabama’s undefeated CFP national championship team in the 2020 season.
The ninth player picked in the 2021 NFL Draft, Surtain made the Pro Football Writers of America’s All-Rookie team last season. This season, in addition to Pro Bowl recognition, Surtain was an All-Pro pick by The Associated Press and the NFL Players Association and an All-NFL selection by the PFWA.
