Pastor Mike Jr. debuts at No. 4 on Billboard gospel album chart with ‘Impossible’
Birmingham’s Rock City Church Pastor Mike McClure Jr., a Stellar Award-winning gospel artist who performs as Pastor Mike Jr., has debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard gospel album chart this week.
McClure released his third album, “Impossible,” on Feb. 3. It debuts this week on the Feb. 18 Billboard gospel album chart.
McClure’s first album, “Live Free,” debuted on the Billboard top gospel album chart on Oct. 5, 2019, and spent six weeks on the chart, peaking at No. 1 on Oct. 26, 2019.
His second album, “Winning,” debuted on Nov. 12, 2022, and peaked on the top gospel album chart at number 10.
The song “Impossible” debuted on Billboard’s gospel airplay chart on Oct. 8, 2022, and has been on the chart for 20 weeks. It reached its peak position so far this week at No. 9 on the Feb. 18 gospel airplay chart.
McClure has had three songs reach number one on Billboard’s gospel music airplay chart.
“Big” debuted on Aug. 10, 2019, and spent 48 weeks on the gospel airplay chart, with 10 weeks at number one, and peaked on Feb. 2, 2020.
“Amazing,” an inspirational remake of the Gnarls Barkley hit pop song “Crazy,” debuted on the gospel airplay chart on Nov. 20, 2021 and spent 31 weeks on the chart, including two weeks at number one.
“I Got It” debuted on the gospel airplay chart on Oct. 17, 2020, spent 29 weeks on the chart including four weeks at number one, peaking on March 13, 2021.
Another song, “Miracles” by Kierra Sheard, featuring Pastor Mike Jr., debuted Dec. 31, 2023, has spent eight weeks on the chart and peaked Feb. 11 at number 15.
McClure said on social media that the “Impossible” album had more than 1.8 million streams on iTunes in its first week and hit number one in its category. PopVortex, which monitors iTune streaming at the end of each day, said it currently ranks fourth in the Christian and Gospel albums category.
