Pascagoula murder suspects arrested in Mobile
Two people wanted for the murder of a 25-year-old Pascagoula, Miss., man were apprehended in Mobile Thursday, according to the Pascagoula Police Department.
The Mobile County Special Operations Interdiction Unit and U.S. Border Patrol arrested Jerbert Burgos-Cotto, 32, and Silkia Maria Texidor Lopez, 29, during a traffic stop on Interstate 10.
Cruz was found deceased near a Pascagoula intersection on March 4. Three days later, police put out information on Burgos-Cotto, who was the prime suspect in the murder.
Burgos-Cotto is charged with murder, while Lopez is charged with accessory after the fact/murder. More charges are pending, according to Pascagoula police.
The two suspects were taken to the Mobile County Jail, where they will remain pending extradition to Pascagoula.
