Parker offensive lineman, Class 6A state champion signs with in-state program
A Class 6A state champion will be heading to Calhoun County.
Parker High School offensive lineman Oliver Maldonado has signed to play football at Jacksonville State, the program officially announced on Wednesday.
He had originally committed to Georgia Military College and also held offers that included Tuskegee and West Georgia.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive lineman was a part of an offense that averaged 34.7 points per game and had a 1,000 yard rusher in Terence Gaines Jr. (1,157).
He also helped pave the the way for now-Oregon defensive back Na’eem Offord, who ran for 520 yards and 11 touchdowns last season.
Jax State will open the season at Central Florida on Thursday, Aug. 28.
