Parker 4-star DL Jeremiah Beaman signs Alabama
Jeremiah Beaman is officially a part of the Alabama football program and will take part in Rose Bowl preparation starting next week.
The 4-star Parker defensive lineman, who committed to Alabama in May, signed with the Crimson Tide on Wednesday morning in a ceremony at Birmingham’s A.H. Parker High School.
Along with lofty goals of being an All-American and taking his game to the next level, Beaman also has his sights set on academic achievement.
“I definitely want to be an honor student at Alabama,” Beaman said. “I love school, most importantly, but I love football as well. I want to set a couple of records if I can and do something someone hasn’t done there before.”
Along with Beaman, quarterback and wide receiver Malik Muhammad signed with UAB and cornerback Eric Tarrant signed with Alabama State.
Muhammad, who started at quarterback for Parker until a collarbone injury forced him to miss several games, returned to catch a 43-yard game-winning touchdown in the Thundering Herd’s 21-14 victory over Oxford in the second round of the 2023 Class 6A playoffs. He is expected to play receiver for the Blazers.
“My plan is to start,” Muhammad said. “I want to come in and do the same thing that Amare Thomas did this year. Make a big impact on UAB and show my face early.”
Beaman is expected to join Sterling Dixon (Spanish Fort), Isaia Faga (Central-Phenix) and Steve Mboumoua (Notre Dame de Foy, Canada) as incoming freshmen defensive linemen, along with Texas A&M transfer LT Overton.
“I’m thankful for the opportunity,” Beaman said. “Blessed and grateful to God for blessing me with athletic ability. Most of all, blessed with the knowledge to go to school. I’m a student-athlete first and took summer classes in order to graduate early.”
The No. 4 player on AL.com’s A-list of top senior recruits in Alabama, Beaman played on offense, defense and special teams for the Thundering Herd. On defense, he finished with 56 tackles (9 for loss) and 11 sacks as a senior.
The 6-foot-4, 265-pound Beaman is No. 7 among the 247 composite rankings of top seniors in the state and is set to enroll at Alabama for the spring semester.
“I was supposed to already be down there, but I had to stay here for this,” Beaman said. “As soon as I can, I’m getting down there for practice.”
