Our best NASCAR Cup Series prop bets for the Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega this weekend
There is always drama and wreckage at Talladega Superspeedway. Inevitably, “The Big One” will end the day for many drivers. Forecasting who may challenge for the win isn’t easy.
In the last nine Cup races at the site, there have been nine different winners, the longest such streak without a repeat visitor to Victory Lane.
Naturally, you can bet on race winners, and finishers in the top 3, top 5 and top 10 as standard wagers on NASCAR Cup races. Driver and race props, however, offer more unique markets and choices to expand your options.
At a draft track, where calamity awaits at any moment to ruin a straight bet on a winner, driver and race props offer a wider scope of markets. You can wager on certain drivers to finish ahead of others or deliver the best finish among a group of drivers.
There are categories in which a bettor can pick the manufacturer to win a race, or the best driver finish from a particular manufacturer. We spotlight our favorite driver props for the Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Driver matchup props
*All odds current on DraftKings Sportsbook as of April 25
Brad Keselowski over Kyle Larson
Odds: -125
Larson is the bigger name right now, and he already has won twice so far this season. Keselowski is still seeking his first top 10 showing after nine races. But Larson is usually a fade at drafting tracks, with just four top 10s in 20 Talladega starts. Keselowski leads all active drivers with six Talladega wins and finished second in two races at the site in 2024.
William Byron over Joey Logano
Odds: -110
Byron has never won at Talladega. He obviously fits the profile of a first-time winner, which has been the recent trend at TS. The current Cup standings leader, by 30 points over second place, has won three of the last 12 races at drafting tracks. He finished in top 3 in two of his past three Talladega starts. Logano hasn’t placed in the top 15 in nine of his last 10 Talladega starts.
Group winner props
William Byron over Ryan Blaney, Kyle Busch and Joey Logano
Odds: +300
In the group winner props, you must pick one driver to finish highest among four selections. Byron has the longest odds in the group, and Blaney, who is at +240, will likely be the biggest challenger. He holds the best all-time Driver Rating at Talladega (91.2), with three wins at the site. In nine of his last 11 TS starts, Busch did not finish in the top 15.
Bubba Wallace Over Alex Bowman, Michael McDowell, Todd Gilliland
Odds: +240
The three drivers other than Wallace are good straight bets to finish in the top 10, but Wallace might contend for his second career win at Talladega, He is always a threat to push for a strong finish at a superspeedway and is off to a good start this season. Wallace’s 78 stage points after nine races are his most ever by this point of the Cup schedule.
Race props
Top Chevrolet: William Byron
Odds: +500 at DraftKings Sportsbook
When picking a top finisher from a certain manufacturer, you can benefit from a healthy payout at even the shortest odds. Byron has the second-best odds to be the best finisher among the Chevrolets. But if you want to consider a longer shot, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (+1200) won the second Talladega race last season.
Winning Manufacturer: Toyota
Odds: +270
While Byron is obviously one of my prime picks to win, when betting on NASCAR, especially at a superspeedway, you must spread your wagering options out.
Going too heavy on Byron will ruin your day if he gets caught up in a wreck. Wager on multiple markets and drivers with lower unit usage, and try to take advantage of longer odds where you can.
Toyota has the longest odds to produce the race winner yet has several potential options to take the checkered flag. Tyler Reddick won this race last year, and Denny Hamlin is a two-time winner at TS with 11 runner-up finishes, second among active drivers. Christopher Bell won at a comparable track at
