0 Punts have been returned against Georgia this season. Georgia is the only team in the nation that has not had any of its punts returned in 2023. The Bulldogs’ Brett Thorson has punted 31 times for a 43.7-yard average this season. Florida State WR Keon Coleman leads the ACC with 300 punt-return yards, averaging 12.0 yards on 25 returns. However, Coleman will not play in Saturday’s game.

1 More turnover than takeaway for Georgia this season. Florida State has 12 more takeaways than turnovers. Georgia has lost seven fumbles and seven interceptions while recovering one of its opponents’ fumbles and intercepting 12 passes. Every other team in the nation has recovered at least two fumbles in 2023. Florida State has recovered seven of its opponents’ fumbles and intercepted 10 passes while losing three fumbles and two interceptions. The Seminoles’ five turnovers are the fewest in the nation.

2 Teams have played in the Orange Bowl more than Florida State, which is making its 11th appearance in the game. Oklahoma has played in the Orange Bowl 20 times and Nebraska 17 times. Florida State has a 5-5 record in the game with a 33-32 victory over Michigan on Dec. 30, 2016, in the Seminoles’ most recent Orange Bowl appearance. Florida State has a 29-17-2 overall bowl mark.

2 Consensus All-Americans for Georgia in the 2023 season – TE Brock Bowers and S Malaki Starks. Considered the top tight end available for the 2024 NFL Draft, Bowers has an ankle injury and might miss Saturday’s game.

2 Teams that are leading their conferences in scoring defense and third-down defense will meet in the Orange Bowl. Georgia has allowed an average of 16.6 points per game while its opponents have converted 26.4 percent of their 163 third-down snaps. Florida State has allowed an average of 15.9 points per game while its opponents have converted 27.4 percent of their 190 third-down snaps.

2 Consecutive Florida State opponents have posted negative yardage in the fourth quarter. Florida had minus-15 yards in the fourth quarter of a 24-14 loss on Nov. 25 and Louisville had minus-23 yards in the fourth quarter of a 16-6 loss on Dec. 2. The Seminoles have outscored their opponents 130-33 in the fourth quarter this season. Georgia has outscored its opponents 99-74 in the fourth quarter in 2023.

2 Previous undefeated seasons for Florida State. The Seminoles posted a 12-0 record in 1999 and a 14-0 record in 2013. FSU won the BCS national championship in 1999 and the CFP national championship in 2013.

The Bulldogs defeated Texas 10-9 in the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 2, 1984, Hawaii 41-10 in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1, 2008, and Cincinnati 24-21 in the Peach Bowl on Jan. 1, 2021, to pin the only loss of the season on those teams. One team has completed an undefeated, untied season by beating Georgia – Pittsburgh with a 27-3 victory in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1, 1977.

3 Victories in four previous Orange Bowl appearances for Georgia. The Bulldogs’ first bowl trip was to the Orange Bowl, where they defeated TCU 40-26 on Jan. 1, 1942. Georgia lost to Texas 41-28 on Jan. 1, 1949, and defeated Missouri 16-0 on Jan. 1, 1960, and Michigan 34-11 on Dec. 31, 2021, in its other Orange Bowl appearances.

4 Consecutive victories against SEC opponents for Florida State, which owns regular-season victories over LSU and Florida in each of the past two seasons. The Seminoles have a 54-72-7 record against SEC opponents, including a 28-37-2 mark against Florida. Florida State has a 4-5-1 record against SEC opponents in bowls with a 34-31 victory over Auburn in the BCS championship game on Jan. 6, 2014, in the most recent postseason meeting.

6 Georgia players have passed for 3,000 yards in one season, including current QB Carson Beck, whose 3,738 passing yards in 2023 rank third on the Bulldogs’ single-season chart. Stetson Bennett set the school single-season record with 4,127 passing yards in 2022. Aaron Murray reached 3,000 passing yards in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, Eric Zeier did in 1993 and 1994, David Greene in 2003 and Matthew Stafford in 2008.

6 Victories for Georgia, four victories for Florida State and one tie in the Bulldogs-Seminoles series. The teams’ only meeting since a 17-17 tie in the Citrus Bowl on Dec. 22, 1984, is Georgia’s 26-13 victory in the Sugar Bowl on Jan 1, 2003, for the Bulldogs’ only victory in the past six meetings. All their other meetings were regular-season games.

7 Consecutive victories against ACC opponents for Georgia – six regular-season victories against Georgia Tech and one against Clemson – as part of the Bulldogs’ 80-27-5 record against the conference. Georgia’s record against the ACC includes a 30-10 mark against Georgia Tech since the Yellow Jackets joined the conference in 1983. Georgia has a 7-2 record against ACC opponents in bowls and owns a five-game postseason winning streak against the conference since a 34-27 setback against Virginia in the Peach Bowl on Dec. 30, 1995.

8 Consecutive games with a rushing touchdown for Georgia RB Kendall Milton. Five games into the season, Milton had one rushing touchdown. Milton now has 12 TDs this season, including two in three of the previous four games. Milton is Georgia’s second-leading rusher with 686 yards on 112 carries. RB Daijun Edwards leads Georgia with 818 yards and 11 TDs on 158 rushing attempts.

17 Consecutive games with at least 24 points for Georgia, the longest active streak in the nation. The Bulldogs have scored at least 24 points in each of their games since a 16-6 victory over Kentucky on Nov. 19, 2022. Florida State has held nine consecutive opponents to fewer than 24 points since a 31-24 overtime victory against Clemson on Sept. 23.

19 Consecutive victories for Florida State, the third-longest winning streak in ACC history behind a pair of 29-game streaks for FSU and Clemson that ended in 2014 and 2019, respectively. Georgia had won 29 games in a row before losing to Alabama 27-24 in the SEC Championship Game in its previous contest. The Seminoles’ most recent loss is a 34-28 setback against Clemson on Oct. 15, 2022.

21 Receptions for RB Lawrance Toafili this season, the most for any Florida State player expected to play in the Orange Bowl. With Keon Coleman, Johnny Wilson and Jaheim Bell opting out of the Orange Bowl, FSU will be without 130 receptions for 1,778 yards and 15 TDs from the 2023 season.

22 Victories and 17 losses for SEC teams in the Orange Bowl. Tennessee defeated Clemson 31-14 in last season’s Orange Bowl to make SEC teams 4-1 in the Orange Bowl against ACC opponents. Florida defeated Maryland 56-23 on Jan. 2, 2002, and Virginia 36-28 on Dec. 30, 2019, and Texas A&M defeated North Carolina 41-27 on Jan. 2, 2021, and Mississippi State lost to Georgia Tech 49-34 on Dec. 31, 2014. ACC members have an 11-17 record in the Orange Bowl.

27 Consecutive seasons with a bowl for Georgia, the longest active streak in the nation and the longest streak in SEC history. The Bulldogs’ most recent season without a bowl came in 1996, when Georgia posted a 5-6 record. Georgia has a 36-21-3 bowl record with victories in its past six outings.

46.8 Percent of the passes thrown by Florida State’s opponents have been completed this season. FSU is the only team in the nation limiting its opponents to a completion rate of less than 50 percent. Georgia QB Carson Beck has completed 72.4 percent of his passes in 2023, the fifth-best rate in the nation.

90 Passing yards for QB Brock Glenn, who is expected to make his second start for Florida State on Saturday. FSU’s No. 1 quarterback and the ACC Player of the Year, Jordan Travis, sustained a season-ending injury in the 11th game. Tate Rodemaker started the regular-season finale against Florida, but he suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter and has since entered the transfer portal. Glenn played quarterback in the Seminoles’ 16-6 victory over Louisville in the ACC Championship Game on Dec. 2, when he completed 8-of-21 passes for 55 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions in his fourth appearance of the season.

372 Games have been played by Georgia since it was most recently shut out, the second-longest scoring streak in SEC history and the third-longest in major-college football history. The Bulldogs haven’t been blanked since losing to Alabama 31-0 on Sept. 30, 1995.
