Opelika man killed Sunday in Shelby County crash
An Opelika man was killed Sunday in a single-vehicle crash in Shelby County, according to a statement from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Juan Ojeda, 48, was fatally injured when the 2007 Jeep Liberty he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree, troopers reported. The wreck occurred about 4:55 p.m. Sunday on U.S. 280, about three miles west of Harpersville, in Shelby County.
Ojeda was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the troopers statement.
No other information is available as troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
