There was only one change to No. 1 teams in this week’s AL.com high school volleyball rankings.

Pleasant Valley earned its first No. 1 ranking after taking over the Class 2A top spot. The Raiders (19-11) beat previous No. 1 Donoho last week, their second win over the Falcons this season. Lexington is No. 2 and Donoho is No. 3.

The other top-ranked teams are Class 7A Bob Jones, Class 6A Mountain Brook, Class 5A Montgomery Academy, Class 4A Montgomery Catholic, Class 3A Plainview, Class 1A Addison and AISA Edgewood.

Area tournaments can begin on Oct. 17 and plenty of top spots remain undecided. The No. 1 seed in each area hosts the single elimination tournament with the top two teams advancing to Super Regional action.
