One of Birmingham’s favorite chicken places coming to another Alabama city
Hattie B’s Hot Chicken is coming to Huntsville.
The popular Nashville-based franchise plans to open a location in the Stadium Commons development at the end of next year.
Crunkleton Commercial Real Estate made the announcement through social media.
Hattie B’s opened its first restaurant outside Nashville in Birmingham back in 2016.
Renowned for its very spicy fried chicken, the restaurant advertises increasing levels of heat – starting with “Southern” (or no heat) and working up to “mild or medium,” “hot!” “damn hot!!” and “shut the cluck up!!!”
The chicken is available on a sandwich with one side or as a plate with white or dark meat, wings or tenders, served with a choice of two sides. Sides and snacks include Southern greens, bacon cheddar grits, fried pickles, french fries, pimento mac-and-cheese, baked beans, red-skin potato salad, coleslaw and black-eyed pea salad.
Stadium Commons is a $145 million development planned for the site of a former movie theater between Joe Davis Stadium and Memorial Parkway.
Construction began in May on the project, which will feature retail, a parking deck, office space and eventually a hotel and apartments.
