On the rise: Auburn basketball receives more votes in this weekâs AP poll
Stock is rising for the Auburn Tigers men’s basketball team, as evident by the 46 voting points it received in the most recent AP top 25 poll, which was released Monday afternoon.
The Tigers’ 46 voting points were the most they’ve received all season and comes on the heels of last week’s poll, which saw Auburn receive 28 voting points.
Auburn’s 46 voting points would rank the Tigers 32nd in the country if the poll extended that far.
Topping this week’s AP poll is Purdue, who remains undefeated after a pair of top-10 wins over Tennessee and Marquette. Arizona, Marquette, UConn and Kansas round out this week’s top 5.
After playing a light, one-game week last week, which featured a lopsided 84-54 win over Alabama A&M on Nov. 21, Auburn returns to action Wednesday night for a date with Virginia Tech in the ACC/SEC Challenge. That game will tip off from Neville Arena at 8:15 p.m.
The Tigers will also play Sunday, when they head to Boone, N.C. for a matchup with Appalachian State.
