Ocean Springs, Mississippi mass shooting suspect arrested in Mobile, police say

The suspect in a mass shooting in Ocean Springs, Miss. that left a 19-year-old dead and six others wounded was arrested in Mobile the night of the shooting, Ocean Springs police chief Mark Dunston confirmed to AL.com Tuesday.

Fadarius Davon Williams, 22, is in the Mobile Metro Jail awaiting extradition to Ocean Springs, where he is charged with first-degree murder.

The shooting took place Friday night at a Cinco de Mayo party at The Scratch Kitchen, a restaurant and bar which is also a popular late-night spot on Government Street in downtown Ocean Springs.

Investigators believe the shooting was gang-related, with the deceased — identified as 19-year-old Chayse Harmon of Moss Point — the target and the other six victims bystanders struck by gunfire.

None of the six suffered life-threatening injuries, according to police.
