‘Not My Family: The Monique Smith Story’ premiere: How to watch, where to stream free

The all new movie Not My Family: The Monique Smith Story premieres on Lifetime Saturday, April 12 at 8/7c.

According to a brief synopsis released by Lifetime, the new movie follows the tragic and raw true story of Monique Smith—a woman who endured a horrific childhood before eventually discovering her abusive family wasn’t even her real family.

Living in constant fear of abuse from the hands of her mother and others, Smith dreamed of finding people who loved her and a place to call home. Due to the abuse, she felt she could never embrace her family and found herself wanting to know her origin story as she became a mother herself.

Only after realizing she didn’t have proper documentation such as a birth certificate and social security card, Smith goes on a decades-long search to discover who she really is.
