The city of Huntsville now has $47.3 million in federal funding to begin work on the $65 million Pinhook Creek project, which includes the Skybridge suspension bridge and a riverwalk.

“It gives us a means to actually do flood mitigation and also kind of dress up an area as pretty as we would like,” Mayor Tommy Battle said of the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity grant. “It will also help out with transportation … It gives us a lot of options. It gives us a means to do serious infrastructure changes.”
