A Northport man was killed Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Nickolas S. Newell. He was 25.

The wreck happened at 4:20 p.m. on Martin Road East, about three miles northeast of Northport.

Trooper Cpl. Reginal King said Newell was driving a GMC Yukon that left the road, struck a ditch, and overturned.

Newell was not using a seatbelt and was pronounced dead on the scene.
