A northern Jefferson County woman was killed on Interstate 22 Saturday afternoon.

Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Somer L. Greenway. She was 36 and lived in Warrior.

The wreck happened at 3:20 p.m. on I-22, about two miles south of Brookside, said Trooper Cpl. Reginal King.

Green was driving a Chevrolet Cruz that left the road, struck an embankment, and overturned. King said Greenway was not using a seat belt and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Troopers are investigating.
