North Alabama woman missing for 15 years

Wednesday will have been 15 years since Jennifer Fay Powers disappeared. But Madison County investigators say they still want answers in her case.

Powers was a 29-year-old wife and mother when she was last seen at her home at 148 Granto Road in Harvest on July 12, 2008.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, she is believed to be a “probable” victim of homicide.

Powers’ husband, Jason, told investigators he woke up to find Powers, who went to bed with him the night before, missing.

Her purse, medication and other personal belongings remained in the house. She didn’t take a vehicle or any extra clothes and shoes. A search of the woods near the home turned up nothing.

According to authorities, Powers had a history of drug use, but family members believe she would not have abandoned her family. Despite a reward and several searches over the years, there have been no arrests.

A woman with red hair and brown eyes, Powers has been described as 5 feet 7 inches and about 125 pounds.

“Despite the last 15 years, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office has not forgotten about Jennifer Powers, and our pursuit of justice continues today,” the agency stated in a Facebook post.
