A Florence woman died Saturday night in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Lauderdale County.

Senior Trooper Cody Farrar of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the incident happened at about 6:15 p.m. Saturday on Lauderdale County 19 near Kimbrough Lane, approximately 10 miles west of Florence.

Tammie J. Ivy, 54, was operating a 1993 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that left the roadway, struck a ditch and then a tree.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger on the Harley-Davidson, Richard B. Barnes, 59, of Leighton, was injured and airlifted to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.

Troopers with the ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
