A Somerville woman has been arrested and charged with distributing obscene material to a child.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said Brianna Causey, 23, turned herself in to investigators Monday.

According to the sheriff’s office, an investigation was started after a report was made in late January of obscene material transmitted by electronic device to a child under the age of 16.

According to court records, investigators say Causey communicated with a minor via Snapchat using sexual language and shared explicit videos of herself.

Her bail was set at $5,000.

“Investigators remind parents that it is important to know what is on your child’s phone and be aware of what apps they are using,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
