North Alabama woman charged with murder related to domestic violence
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office says a 53-year-old Guntersville woman has been charged with murder related to domestic violence after an incident Saturday night.
The sheriff’s office said in a news release that deputies responded to a report of a deceased individual at a residence on Tick Duckett Road, in the Martling area, on Saturday night. The deputies said the preliminary investigation showed there was a “domestic violence related incident,” between the deceased and a woman.
Investigators charged Krissy Cowen, 53, with murder related to domestic violence. She remains in the Marshall County Jail without bond.
No details about the identity of the victim or the cause of death were reported.
The MCSO said the investigation is ongoing and additional details may be released as they become available.
In addition to the sheriff’s office, members of the Marshall County Coroners Office, Marshall County District Attorney’s Office, and the Asbury Volunteer Fire responded to the scene.
