North Alabama under a wind advisory until early Saturday

A wind advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 3:33 p.m. in effect until Saturday at midnight for Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Morgan, Marshall, Jackson, DeKalb and Cullman counties.

The weather service comments, “Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.”

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” states the weather service. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”
