North Alabama under a wind advisory Friday and Saturday

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory at 2:36 a.m. on Thursday valid from Friday 6 a.m. until Saturday midnight for Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Morgan, Marshall, Jackson, DeKalb and Cullman counties.

The weather service comments, “Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.”

“Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Large tree limbs or trees be blown down and power outages may result,” states the weather service. “Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.”
