The Limestone County School Board on Tuesday accepted the resignation of a high school coach and teacher charged with having sex with a student.

Thomas Blake Tucker, a teacher and coach at East Limestone High School, had been on unpaid administrative leave since Sept. 19, according to the News Courier, which reported Tuesday of the school board accepting Tucker’s resignation.

Tucker was arrested Sept. 18 on a charge of being a school employee engaging in a sex act with a student under the age of 19.

The charge against Tucker remains pending and the case was bound over to a Limestone County grand jury on Thursday, according to court records.
