North Alabama swim coach critically injured in weekend crash
A North Alabama swim coach is continuing to recover following a single-vehicle crash Sunday.
Kasey Chamblee, coach of the Boaz High School Barracudas, is currently being hospitalized at Chattanooga’s Erlanger Baroness Hospital.
According to a post on the team Facebook page, Chamblee was moved out of intensive care and has taken some steps.
“She continues to improve but has a long road of recovery ahead,” a post reads. “Please continue to pray for her.”
Chamblee was involved in a crash on the way to a swim meet, according to team.
She was airlifted to Erlanger, where she had surgery for a broken back and a spinal cord laceration. She reportedly has feeling in all her extremities.
