Sheffield police are holding a man on sodomy and child sexual abuse charges from Utah.

According to police, Damien Zachary Marshall was arrested Friday at a residence in the 600 block of Broadway Street in Sheffield.

He is currently being held in the Sheffield City Jail awaiting extradition.

Police said Sheffield police detectives Friday received information from Vernal (Utah) about Marshall, who held warrants for two counts of sodomy on a child, as well as a count for sexual abuse of a child.

Vernal is a city of about 10,000 in eastern Utah about 20 miles from the Colorado line.
