North Alabama man receives life in prison for sexual torture
A Marshall County man Tuesday was sentenced to life in prison in connection with his 2023 arrest on sexual abuse charges.
Circuit Judge Christopher Abel sentenced Patrick Alexis, 40, of Albertville to the maximum allowable sentences following his April conviction:
- Life in prison for sexual torture.
- 20 years for second degree domestic violence.
District Attorney Jennifer Bray said the victim, during her impact statement, thanked the judge, the prosecution team, Detective Chad Ginn, and Officers Alex Watkins and Jordan Shelton for their work on her behalf.
“I just want to say how grateful I am the suspect will not be able to hurt another individual. Now I can move forward with my life and my healing in peace,” the victim said, according to news release.
Bray said the sentence “brings a measure of justice for the victim, who endured unimaginable abuse and showed great courage throughout this process.”
Bray also thanked ADA Adam Culbert, investigators Josh Gaskin and Jimmy Miller, VSO Beverly Bozarth and Albertville police.
