North Alabama man charged with murder after Monday shooting

Jackson County authorities have charged a Pisgah man with murder following a shooting Monday night.

Jackson County Sheriff Rocky Harnen said deputies responded to a shooting call on County Road 88 at about 9 p.m.

A 44-year-old man, whose name has not yet been released, was found inside the home with several gunshot wounds.

The victim was later airlifted to Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, where he was pronounced dead.

Joshua Alan Goolesby, 32, was arrested within an hour of the call.

He is being held without bond in the Jackson County Jail on charges of murder and a protection order violation, according to jail records.
