A DeKalb County man has been charged with torture and willful abuse of a child.

Sherriff Nick Welden hasn’t released many details following the arrest Thursday night.

Tracy Lee Ray, Jr. , 30, of Sylvania is being held in DeKalb County Detention Center and awaits a bond hearing. He also faces a failure to appear charge.

Welden did not release any other details, “due to the sensitivity of this case.”

“Situations involving our children are so hard on everyone involved,” Welden said in a statement. “I would like to thank our investigations and DHR for taking care of this so quickly and always making our children a top priority.”
