North Alabama authorities in stand-off as 2 held hostage by driver who shot at deputy
Two North Alabama law enforcement agencies are currently involved in a standoff with an armed person inside a vehicle.
The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office in a Facebook post said, as of about 7 a.m., it is working with Florence police, and deputies from Hardin County, Tenn.
According to the agency, an armed person is holding two hostages in a vehicle on Alabama 20.
The incident began as a vehicle pursuit initiated in Florence.
According to the agency, the driver fired shots at a Lauderdale County deputy during the pursuit.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area if possible.
