A child in north Alabama died after being pulled from a pool Monday evening.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened at a residence on Gandy’s Cove Road near Falkville.

A child was found unresponsive in a pool.

Air evacuation was en route to the home when the sheriff’s office made the announcement around 6:30 p.m. Monday.

“Sadly, the 2 year old did not survive,” the sheriff’s stated in an update on social media. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and all of those that responded to the scene or treated the child.”

The incident happened a day after a five-year-old died after being discovered in a pond in Harvest.
