Noah Igbinoghene goes 58 yards for his first NFL TD

In his first game for the Dallas Cowboys, cornerback Noah Igbinoghene scored his first NFL touchdown on Sunday night.

Dallas safety Juanyeh Thomas blocked a 45-yard field-goal attempt by the New York Giants’ Graham Gano, and Igbinoghene scooped up the football and raced 58 yards to the end zone for the first points of the Cowboys’ season with 8:03 left in the first quarter at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Igbinoghene joined Dallas on Aug. 29, when the Cowboys traded cornerback Kelvin Joseph to the Miami Dolphins to obtain the former Auburn standout.

Igbinoghene went to Miami as the 30th player picked in the 2020 NFL Draft and had five career starts in his three seasons with the Dolphins.

The highlight of Igbinoghene’s time with Miami also came in a prime-time Sunday game. In a 16-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 23, Igbinoghene sealed the victory by making the only interception of his career in the end zone on the Steeler’s final snap.

Coming to Auburn from Hewitt-Trussville High School as a wide receiver, Igbinoghene made the switch to the secondary during spring practice in 2018 after one college season as a pass-catcher.
